This guide describes how to onboard Flexicharge chargers with Tap.
Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.
To connect Flexicharge chargers, you will need to be physically located at the charger with a laptop and micro USB cable for the onboarding.
In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger
Select Flexicharge.
Copy the URL provided.
Open up the charger and locate the controller. The next step depends on whether you are using a wired (Ethernet) internet connection, or a Tap SIM card.
Tap SIM Internet Connection
Place your Tap SIM card SIM slot of the controller.
Connect the laptop to the charger with a micro USB data cable via the available port on the
front of the controller
Open a web browser and enter the following IP address in the URL bar: http://192.168.123.123:81
A login window will appear. Login with these credentials:
Username: operator
Password: yellow_zone
Once logged in, it is recommended to change this password.
Click Network
Enter Access Point Name (APN): Tapelectric
Click Save
Click on Backend and enter the following:
Type: GSM
OCPP ChargeBoxIdentity: any value you like
Websockets JSON OCPP URL: paste the URL you copied in the Tap appClick Save and Restart.
After the controller comes back online, check the following:
Connection State (Modem): APN session duration [time]
Connection State (Backend): Connected [heartbeat]If the connections states appear as above, the charger has succcessfully connected to Tap.
In the Tap app, after a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
Wired/Ethernet Internet Connection
Connect the laptop to the charger with a micro USB data cable via the available port on the
front of the controller
Open a web browser and enter the following IP address in the URL bar: http://192.168.123.123:81
A login window will appear. Login with these credentials:
Username: operator
Password: yellow_zone
Once logged in, it is recommended to change this password.
Click on Backend and enter the following:
Type: ETHERNET
OCPP ChargeBoxIdentity: any value you like
Websockets JSON OCPP URL: paste the URL you copied in the Tap appClick Save and Restart.
After the controller comes back online, check the following:
Connection State (Backend): Connected [heartbeat]In the Tap app, after a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
