Alfen Onboarding Guide

This guide describes how to onboard Alfen chargers with Tap.

To connect Alfen chargers, you will need access to an Alfen account in the MyEve app.

  1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger

  2. Select Alfen.

  3. Copy the URL provided. Note that the manufacturer splits this URL in their app, so you can also copy the URL in separate parts in Tap.

  4. Go to the Alfen MyEve app and select your charger. The next step depends on whether you are using a wired (LAN) internet connection, or a Tap SIM card.

Wired/LAN Internet Connection

  1. Navigate to: Advanced > Connectivity > Wired

  2. Enter Backoffice URL and Backoffice path per the example below:

  1. Save the new fields.
  2. Navigate to: Basic > Reboot charger
  3. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.

Tap SIM Card

  1. Navigate to: Advanced > Connectivity > Mobile

  2. Enter the following details:

Backoffice URL: wss://ocpp.tapelectric.app
Backoffice path: {as copied from the Tap app} e.g. 2xmdirgrgt8a8
APN name: Tapelectric
APN user: user
APN password: pass

  1. Save the new fields.
  2. Navigate to: Basic > Reboot charger
  3. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
