To connect a Mennekes charger, you will need to be physically located at the charger with a laptop. You will connect to the charger using a micro USB cable.

  1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger

  2. Select Mennekes.

  3. Copy the URL provided.

  4. Connect the charger to your laptop with a micro USB cable.

  5. Open a web browser on the laptop. Enter the URL: http://192.168.123.123

  6. Login using the following credentials:

Username: operator
Password: (see datasheet that came with the charger)

  1. Navigate to Backend > OCPP. The next step depends on whether you are using a wired (LAN) internet connection, or a Tap SIM card.

Wired/LAN Internet Connection

  1. Select "Ethernet".

Tap SIM Card

  1. Select "GSM".
  2. Navigate to Network > GSM. Fill in this field:

Access Point Name (APN): Tapelectric

  1. Click Save.

After connectivity is set

  1. Navigate to Backend > OCPP. Your OCPP ChargeBoxIdentity (ChargePointID) serial number will be auto-populated and left as it is. Copy this value to enter into Tap.

  2. Set OCPP-mode to "OCPP-J 1.6".

  3. In "JSON OCPP URL", enter: wss://ocpp.tapelectric.app/

  4. Click Save and Restart.

  5. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
