Onboarding in this context means getting your EVBox charger communicating with Tap's free charger management platform. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.
3rd generation EVBox chargers require EVBox's support team to switch the charger backoffice to Tap Electric. This service is available until December 1, 2025. After that, it will not be possible to switch these chargers to Tap.
If you have the newer, 4th generation EVBox chargers, you can find instructions on switching to Tap in this guide.
1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger
Select EVBox (3rd generation).
Copy your unique URL from the Tap app or webportal.
Contact EVBox support before they close on December 1st, 2025. Provide them with the URL you copied from Tap. They will configure this in the charger and reboot it.
Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
