GL EV-IQ onboarding guide

Easily connect and configure your GL EV-IQ chargers to Tap Electric’s free charger management platform with this guide.

Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap's charger backoffice. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.

Some EV-IQ chargers will come pre-configured from factory with Tap. In that case, simply power on the charger and they should appear in your Tap account.

This guide is for when the charger is not preconfigured.

1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new chargers


2. Select GL EV-IQ.

3. Copy your unique URL from the Tap app or webportal.

4. Ensure the charger is powered on.

5. Open the Installer Miles app.

6. Select “Access for Electric Miles Drivers”.

7. Select “Charger connectivity”.

8. Select “EVIQ” and “GL-EVIQ07WRS”.

9. Scan the serial number QR code on the charger fitting.

10. Select “Network Setup” and ender details.

11. Press “Next” and allow your phone to connect to Bluetooth by entering the password 123456.

12. The app will show the charger is connected.

13. Wait a few minutes and the screen will go Green and the charger will reset.

14. Cotact the Electric Miles team on [email protected] with the serial number to request the server URL be changed to the URL you copied in Tap, and set the randomised delay to 1 second.

15. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
