Smappee onboarding guide

Easily connect and configure your Smappee chargers to Tap Electric’s free charger management platform with this guide.

Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap's charger backoffice. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.

To connect Smappee chargers, you will need access to your Smappee Dashboard.

1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger

2. Select Smappee.

3. Copy your unique URL from the Tap app or webportal.

4. Login to the Smappee Dashboard and navigate to your location. Then go the the card Charger configuration.

5. Go to tab 4 - Services and click the symbol next to Activation method for charging sessions.

6. In the next screen, click Authorized charging, then External e-mobility platform.

7. Paste the URL you copied in the Tap app.

8. Click Save.

9. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
