Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap's charger backoffice. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.

To onboard Veton chargers, you will need to be connected to the same internet network as the charger with your computer.

  1. Make sure the controller is connected to the internet network by connecting a network cable to a router, and the ETH0 port of the charging controller on the other.

2. Power up the charger. This could take around 5 minutes.

3. On your laptop, open a browser and navigate to http://ev3000.local/

4. On the web interface, click the person icon to login.

5. Navigate to: Charging Park > Charging Stations > Select charger > Configuration

6. Set Release Mode to "By OCPP".

7. Set the "OCPP ID" to the unique name for the charger. Click Save changes.

8. Navigate to: Charging Park > OCPP > Configuration.

9. In Backend URL, replace the serial number as shown with your charger's serial number.

10. Navigate to: System Control > Time. Make sure that the date and time are correct. If this is not the case, adjust these to match the computer’s date and time. If necessary, click ‘Save’. If the date and time were not correctly set, logging in will be required.

11. Navigate to System Control > Network. Make sure the field ‘No Gateway’ is not checked. If necessary, click ‘Save’.

12. Navigate to System Control > Status. Click ‘Reboot system’ and wait for about 5 minutes until the controller has restarted.

13. Open the Tap app or portal. Navigate to Locations > connect new charger

15. Select Veton.

16. Select Enter Charger ID. Enter the Veton serial number.

17. After a minute the charger should appear in the list and you can proceed with onboarding.
