NewMotion Home Advanced 2.1 & 2.2 onboarding guide

Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap's charger backoffice. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.

1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger


2. Select NewMotion Home Advanced 2.1 & 2.2.

3. Copy your unique URL from the Tap app or webportal.

4. Connect your charger to your home internet

5. Connect your phone or laptop to the same Wi-Fi as the charger.
6. Open your router page in a browser.
Common router addresses are:

  • 192.168.1.1

  • 192.168.0.1

  • 192.168.178.1

7. Log in to the router.
8. Find a page called something like:

  • Connected devices

  • Device list

  • LAN devices

  • DHCP clients

9. Look for the charger there. It may appear as:

  • Shell

  • EV charger

  • Wallbox

  • an unknown device

  • sometimes just a MAC address

10. When you find it, you’ll see a full IP address like 192.168.1.37.
Then use for example:
http://192.168.1.37:12800/admin/admin.html

(Make sure you use your own IP address in the above url.


11. It will prompt you for a password. You can find this password by asking your current charger operator.

12. Once you are logged in, paste the backoffice URL you copied from Tap.

14. Reboot the charger.

15. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
