Onboarding in this context means getting the charger communicating with Tap's charger backoffice. If you are looking for a complete guide for setting up an account and configuring your locations, see our Quick Start Guide.
To connect KEBA P40 chargers, you will need a mobile phone or laptop and be physically located at the charger to connect to its hotspot. If you have an older KEBA P30 series charger, use our onboarding guide for that instead.
1. In the Tap app: Locations > connect new charger
2. Select KEBA P40 Series.
3. Copy your unique "Central System Path" from the Tap app or webportal. You will also need to enter the Port and Path in KEBA, so you can come back to copy those later.
4. Open the KEBA eMobility app and select the charger you want to connect.
5. Tap the three dots in the top right corner and select “Settings”.
6. In the settings menu, click on “Show advanced settings”.
7. First click on Device and turn on “Authorization”. Then tap “Save” in the top right corner.
8. Navigate to OCPP Settings.
9. Scroll down and fill in the following details:
Central System Host: ocpp.tapelectric.app
Central System Port: 443
Central System Path: Your unique account ID copied from the Tap app (screencap below is just an example ID)
Secure Central System Communication: enable
Do not change any other settings. Click “Save” in the top right corner to save everything.
10. Return to the Tap app. After a minute the charger should appear and you can proceed with onboarding.
11. The charger will show a blue LED bar blinking every 5 seconds to indicate it is ready to accept an authorization, either through a remote start via the app or by swiping your RFID charging card.
